Friendly, welcoming Hotel
We had a lovely stay for my Birthday recently. The location is perfect for visiting Norwich, just 15 mins from the City. We were very lucky and received an upgrade and the room was brilliant, comfortable bed, well heated and a great large bathroom. We found the EV charges a welcome addition to our stay. The whole hotel had a relaxing and informal atmosphere and the staff all were friendly and welcoming. We have stayed many times and will continue to do so.
Fabulous spa treatment
Had a fabulous full body massage and facial with Kristie. I had terrible lower back pain and was a bit worried but she fully put me at ease. WhenI left I felt wonderfully relaxed and more or less pain free! I was truly amazed. It was so relaxing; the warm bed, soothing music and sumptuous Elemis essences were all a bonus. Definitely would recommend for anyone needing to de stress or have a treat. Will certainly go back. Thank you. 🙏😊
Spa treatment
I had a really delightful experience in my spa treatment. Went in was in pain all in my upper back and neck my therapist Georgia a lovely lady who done a really fantastic job she truly is a experienced professional. Left feeling taller and not in pain she found all my knots after 50 min of hard graft and left me in the relaxing room to wind down I thoroughly enjoy my time at Dunston Hall today
Lovely full body massage!
Had a full body massage with Kristie and it was so relaxing! She was really professional and talked me through it & checked if the pressure was ok. I had so many knots & she really worked to get them all out. Would definitely have a treatment with her again!
All staff made us feel valued throughout our stay. This should be classed 5*. Highly recommended
Exceptional staff throughout. Beautiful hotel and grounds. Upgraded to a suite due to towel rail not working. Perfect
Food . Staff. Spa
First time coming to Dunston Hall had a great time. Great experience, had a lovely massage with a nice young lady called Caroline had a lovely dinner and met lots of lovely staff lovely time thank you.
Dunston hall hotel
Great experience at the dunston hall hotel really nice front of house staff Melissa was really helpful with any questions I had about the facility. I would also like to add that Caroline the masseuse was really nice and done an amazing job with my treatments and being friendly.
Regular visitor
We've stayed here several times and always have a great time. Staff are helpful and polite. The leisure facilities are the main reason for us choosing Dunston Hall - they are a little tired but I daresay if they were brand spanking new it would push it out of our price range which would be sad. The food selection at evening meal and breakfast is brilliant. Please bring back the Blass Shiraz - the other Shiraz wasn't so nice :(
Nice break away
Really lovely hotel, lovely staff, however not for a romantic getaway, it was a nice night away for my partners birthday and lovely gesture of complimentary drinks. However if you’re after a nice quiet break this is not the best. It’s more fitting with a stay over at a 4* airport hotel. The restaurant food was nice however felt over dressed as restaurant is nothing special and certainly not for a quite romantic break.
Service and Hospitality
I have just returned from a fantastic couple of days at Dunston Hall Hotel, friendly service, amazing food and incredible attention to detail. The chef's homemade afternoon cream tea was delicious. Fantastic Brasserie menu choices, and relaxed bar food dining, all topped off with an exquisite beautiful building. The only negative was having to leave to go home. Thank you to all the team we will be back
Excellent stay
Such a wonderful, overnight stay at Dunston Hall. Very clean, food was delicious, all staff very attentive and helpful. Had 2 treatments at the Spa and felt so relaxed. Rachel was amazing, very informative and made me feel very relaxed.
Great stay
Lovely location, great room and staff very helpful
You wont be disappointed
My wife and I have been to many hotels in UK and abroad. Some top end in London and Dunston Hall has been easily the best. We wanted to stay a few days in an old hotel with character which Dunston is. The staff are excellent, polite, courteous, professional and obviously well trained. The hotel is old and some things dont work and need some TLC but we saw other guests moaning about this and that .....but the people on the front desk dealt with each with a smile. The breakfast is excellent and we ate dinner one night which we found excellent and reasonable for a hotel. Overall a very happy stay
Lovely staff make this a must visit.
Had a fantastic golf break, wonderful facilities, wonderful hotel and food, but most importantly, wonderful staff. We will return!
Great Stay
Spacious , quiet and a beautiful location. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Rooms very clean and choices of food very good . Great setting for a hotel
Good however…
lovely food and drinks. The only annoyance was the pool wasn’t very relaxing as we had kids jumping in and being loud which isn’t ideal on a spa break, which obviously isn’t Dunstons fault- just wish there was separate time for children and for those wanting to relax. also didn’t get a robe/slippers with our room which would have been nice knowing we were still using the spa faculties and most spas and even hotels offer this for most of their paying customers
Would not hesitate to book again.
This was our second visit to this hotel. We got a free upgraded room giving us a king sized bed. We were pleased with room size and facilities. Only criticism l could make is the room carpet was well warm. Room clean and good overall. Food and menu very good. Adjustments were made for dietary requirements. Parking good. Convenient Park and Ride for Norwich only a few minutes drive away. Had a very enjoyable 4 night visit and would not hesitate to book this hotel again.
A lovely stay
A lovely 2 day stay at Dunston Hall. Whilst the rooms could do with a bit of modernisation, they’re very clean and welcoming. Food was lovely and the grounds are beautiful with more than enough parking. Some really lovely attentive staff. In particular Maisie and Connor in the restaurant. They were both very attentive and helpful; a great example of how staff should be and so impressive with them both being so young. The gym was also a lovely addition as we are both very health conscious. The pool side was super relaxing and the nicest loungers. My only big bear was robes would have been a nice addition. But understand these probably get taken lots so do see why. Thanks to all the team for a great stay. We’ll definitely be back in the future.
Nice hotel & Grounds, with a few issues
The hotel itself it set on some really lovely grounds, and the building is very beautiful. The staff were all helpful and tried their best to accommodate. We stayed in a suite, as we travelled with young children and needed the extra room. The connected rooms were nice and spacious and was fine overall. We didn't use the spa or gym, but the gym seemed to be large and well fitted with equipment. The swimming pool was a decent size and clean. I've seen other reviews mention that the hotel is a bit of a labyrinth, which is true but to be expected with a hotel of this size and age, and the lifts were all fully functioning, so no issues there. I've seen mixed reviews on the food, but the meals we had in the bar and the restaurant were quite nice and seemed to be good value for what we had. During our stay the Crab & Crayfish dish was out of stock, but we enjoyed the duck breast and ribeye steak. Children under 5 ate for free which we thought was great value and a nice touch. Unfortunately we weren't able to have an afternoon tea as this required booking 24 hours in advance, which we didn't realise and was a shame, as at the time we visited the tea snug was empty. If you're into Golf, this seems like a fantastic place to do that, with a driving range as well as a large golf course which seemed to be well maintained. This wasn't of particular interest on our stay however. Unfortunately a few things let us down and for the price we paid for the suit, was disappointing, which is why we can't give a higher score. - The suit was advertised to have a Nespresso coffee machine, which is always personal favourite as we have young kids and often have to spend some time in the room in the evening and like to be able to have coffee. Unfortunately after some back and forth with reception we were told this was removed earlier in the day and could not be replaced. After pushing more on this matter they offered us complimentary room service for coffee, and issued us with a couple of drinks vouchers for the bar to apologise. This was mostly fine, but each time we requested a coffee we had to explain the situation and often had problems with being asked to sign a bill for the cost. This was mostly resolved, but at checkout we still had to remove some items from the bill which were added regardless. This was done without fuss. - The water pressure in the shower was awful and effectively just trickled out, which made showering an unpleasant experience. - While the staff were really friendly and accommodating, we did feel like there was a lack of experience and often had to ask for things multiple times, for example no cutlery was provided for our meals in the bar, the bar were able to provide drinks that the restaurant couldn't (such as a bloody mary) as apparently the person behind the bar didn't know how to make it. Also as mentioned previously there was a bit of a communication issue regarding the coffee provided via roomservice due to the lack of Nespresso machine. - The rooms were mostly clean, but a couple things were caked in dust, especially in the room conjoined with ours, where a mirror had a thick layer of dust on the surface. - The TVs in the room are quite old and dated, not a huge problem for us but something to be aware of as nowadays some sort of smart tv is quite common. Overall while we had a nice time, we wouldn't stay again at that price point/value.
Great Impromptu stay!
Impromptu trip to Norwich and had a very reasonable stay. Welcoming staff, clean room, useable and very ok Spa. For the price it was worth every penny. Thank you.
