Great stay
Lovely location, great room and staff very helpful
Good however…
lovely food and drinks. The only annoyance was the pool wasn’t very relaxing as we had kids jumping in and being loud which isn’t ideal on a spa break, which obviously isn’t Dunstons fault- just wish there was separate time for children and for those wanting to relax. also didn’t get a robe/slippers with our room which would have been nice knowing we were still using the spa faculties and most spas and even hotels offer this for most of their paying customers
Would not hesitate to book again.
This was our second visit to this hotel. We got a free upgraded room giving us a king sized bed. We were pleased with room size and facilities. Only criticism l could make is the room carpet was well warm. Room clean and good overall. Food and menu very good. Adjustments were made for dietary requirements. Parking good. Convenient Park and Ride for Norwich only a few minutes drive away. Had a very enjoyable 4 night visit and would not hesitate to book this hotel again.
A lovely stay
A lovely 2 day stay at Dunston Hall. Whilst the rooms could do with a bit of modernisation, they’re very clean and welcoming. Food was lovely and the grounds are beautiful with more than enough parking. Some really lovely attentive staff. In particular Maisie and Connor in the restaurant. They were both very attentive and helpful; a great example of how staff should be and so impressive with them both being so young. The gym was also a lovely addition as we are both very health conscious. The pool side was super relaxing and the nicest loungers. My only big bear was robes would have been a nice addition. But understand these probably get taken lots so do see why. Thanks to all the team for a great stay. We’ll definitely be back in the future.
Nice hotel & Grounds, with a few issues
The hotel itself it set on some really lovely grounds, and the building is very beautiful. The staff were all helpful and tried their best to accommodate. We stayed in a suite, as we travelled with young children and needed the extra room. The connected rooms were nice and spacious and was fine overall. We didn't use the spa or gym, but the gym seemed to be large and well fitted with equipment. The swimming pool was a decent size and clean. I've seen other reviews mention that the hotel is a bit of a labyrinth, which is true but to be expected with a hotel of this size and age, and the lifts were all fully functioning, so no issues there. I've seen mixed reviews on the food, but the meals we had in the bar and the restaurant were quite nice and seemed to be good value for what we had. During our stay the Crab & Crayfish dish was out of stock, but we enjoyed the duck breast and ribeye steak. Children under 5 ate for free which we thought was great value and a nice touch. Unfortunately we weren't able to have an afternoon tea as this required booking 24 hours in advance, which we didn't realise and was a shame, as at the time we visited the tea snug was empty. If you're into Golf, this seems like a fantastic place to do that, with a driving range as well as a large golf course which seemed to be well maintained. This wasn't of particular interest on our stay however. Unfortunately a few things let us down and for the price we paid for the suit, was disappointing, which is why we can't give a higher score. - The suit was advertised to have a Nespresso coffee machine, which is always personal favourite as we have young kids and often have to spend some time in the room in the evening and like to be able to have coffee. Unfortunately after some back and forth with reception we were told this was removed earlier in the day and could not be replaced. After pushing more on this matter they offered us complimentary room service for coffee, and issued us with a couple of drinks vouchers for the bar to apologise. This was mostly fine, but each time we requested a coffee we had to explain the situation and often had problems with being asked to sign a bill for the cost. This was mostly resolved, but at checkout we still had to remove some items from the bill which were added regardless. This was done without fuss. - The water pressure in the shower was awful and effectively just trickled out, which made showering an unpleasant experience. - While the staff were really friendly and accommodating, we did feel like there was a lack of experience and often had to ask for things multiple times, for example no cutlery was provided for our meals in the bar, the bar were able to provide drinks that the restaurant couldn't (such as a bloody mary) as apparently the person behind the bar didn't know how to make it. Also as mentioned previously there was a bit of a communication issue regarding the coffee provided via roomservice due to the lack of Nespresso machine. - The rooms were mostly clean, but a couple things were caked in dust, especially in the room conjoined with ours, where a mirror had a thick layer of dust on the surface. - The TVs in the room are quite old and dated, not a huge problem for us but something to be aware of as nowadays some sort of smart tv is quite common. Overall while we had a nice time, we wouldn't stay again at that price point/value.
Great Impromptu stay!
Impromptu trip to Norwich and had a very reasonable stay. Welcoming staff, clean room, useable and very ok Spa. For the price it was worth every penny. Thank you.
Best in the Norwich area...
Set within sweeping, immaculately manicured grounds, the formidable Dunston Hall takes your breath away on first sight. Inside, it successfully blends the service levels and facilities you would expect from a modern hotel with the feel of a stately home, which is no easy task. The standout feature at Dunston is the staff, all of whom go the extra mile to ensure the quality of your stay. Special mentions must go to Will on Reception, a young man whose professionalism will ensure a great future in hospitality, and Kristie, the breakfast supervisor, an actual force of nature who will make sure the most important meal of your day goes without a hitch. My colleague and I first stayed here due to the hotel's location whilst on a business trip. We now plan those trips to factor in a stay at Dunston. Hopefully, that speaks for itself.
Lovely spa day. Beautiful place with the best staff!!
Lovely day, really relaxing and enjoyable. Staff are all fantastic but a massive shout out to Imogen, beauty therapist, for such an amazing treatment. Highly recommend!
A Hassle-Free Break
If you want a hassle-free, relaxing break then this is thee place for you. With friendly and efficient staff, a comfortable room and 'no-nonsense' dining Dunstan Hall is the ideal getaway, An added bonus is that the hotel is located a stones throw away from a Park and Ride for Norwich; hence erasing all problems connected with city centre parking.
Fabulous stay and very accommodating
We had an overnight spa package stay booked , unfortunately due to becoming unwell and not attending my spa treatment or using meal vouchers. I was so disappointed and emailed The spa , spoke to management who were amazing and so accommodating. We re attended the spa for our treatment , which was fabulous, relaxing and already planning our next visit in July . Staff are very polite and helpful . My spa was completed by Imogen who was so professional, kind and made me feel very at ease . Would recommend to anyone who wants to go somewhere so accommodating and professional.

Birthday
Stayed here with friends for my birthday and had a lovely experience. The restaurant staff were amazing and really made the day special. Lily was especially kind and patient, and Elliott was great too—They kept checking in to make sure we were all okay. Really appreciated their effort!. The hotel was immaculate. I can't wait to visit again
Imogen’s lovely head, scalp neck massage
I booked a head scalp and neck massage, and wow it was sooo good, I had a very lovely young lady called Imogen who did my treatment and she was absolutely wonderful from start to finish, fully recommend her and the treatment, thank you 🙏
Awesome carvery and great staff and service
What a find and on our doorstep so we are really blessed! The wonderful Ellie and Dominic served us at the restaurant wonderful carvery. The food, drinks, atmosphere and quality as well as the staff and their approach was excellent. I highly recommend this place! Can’t wait to visit the spa too.
An amazing good relaxing stay with spa. Thank you Claudia
I booked two nights over the Easter weekend and opted for a spa on the Saturday morning which I purchased for my partners birthday. And wow what an experience. I work in an office and was quite tense and have recently been experiencing a stiff neck in the mornings. However I opted for the back, neck and face massage. Claudia gave me the best massage that I’ve ever experienced, she managed to release all the tension and my stiff neck has mostly gone. The hotel stay was peaceful, relaxing and a goods nights sleep was received and much needed. Although we were woke up early by children running through the corridors but that’s down to the disrespectful parents not the hotel. We opted for an evening meal in the restaurant on both nights. The food and service was fantastic. All food was delivered on a good timely basis and served in a professional manner. Great service and good quality products were used. Breakfast was ok, however the food was a bit hit and miss, cheap sausages and they were horrible. Meanwhile both mornings we had to ask for clean glasses and cups and had to keep waiting. I appreciate it was busy but I visited 8 years ago and we had the same issue. (Dear management please buy some more crockery so the breakfast staff can be more efficient) it looks bad on them however they need the resources to be able to carry out their duties.! In all we had a good relaxing stay, caught up on plenty of sleep. The staff throughout were amazing and cannot thank you all enough, for an amazing stay. I look forward to returning so we can do it all over again.
Great hotel, great dinner, great staff, great atmosphere. Superb all round experience!!!
Our 1 night stay at this wonderful hotel was a superb experience and we will definitely be back! From the smooth check in, to being stunned by our amazing room, to an excellent evening meal followed by drinks in the glorious bar, to a great sleep in luxury bed followed by a top notch full English breakfast, we couldn’t have expected any more! Special mention to all the staff who we met, each and everyone is a credit to the place!!
